Yesterday, I was encoding 24 Season 1 Disc 2. Once the Encode phase finished I started the rebuild but had noticed something in the log. It tells me that it's Rebuilding seg 21 VOBID 4 CELLID 1 and that it may be possible frames may be missing. My question is this bad even though the video plays fine and audio synchs up.

Thank You in Advance.

When I see that first check the phase II section of the log to see if any sections had dropped frames or encoding errors. If it was an encoding problem and DVD-RB caught it then it should say something about trying again for that segment. If a section fails several times I'm not sure how DVD-RB handles it now, it may just move on to the next segment which would lead to your rebuild error.

If there is nothing in the log I usually go into the working directory/D2VAVS folder and compare the segment's .avs file to the encoded .m2v or .mpv file. If they both appear to contain the same video (ie the .m2v file doesn't stop prematurely) then I wouldn't worry about it.

Since you say the entire disc plays back fine that is probably the case.

How many frames does it say are missing? There should be a number between the brackets in the log.

Though I have forgot how many frames because I have deleted it I think it happened in about 15 VOB segments during the rebuild phase and the amount of frames varied each time from 100 - 250. Sorry thats all the info I have but I was wondering should I encode the DVD again.

For that many frames I'd say yes. It sounds like the encoder started crashing... heat maybe?
