convert wma audio in avi to mp3

standalone dvd-divx player does not play the audio file in AVI CD because it's in wma format: is there a way to convert the wma to mp3 format direct in the AVI using virtualdub?

You sure it's wma? very strange, I thought wma can't be muxed in AVI files :confused:
Anyway, extract the audio file and use dbPowerAmp to transcode it.

It's also possible to use VirtualDub-MPEG2 to re-mux WMV9+WMA streams within WMV into the AVI container :scared:

It's better to use MEncoder for this. The AVI created by VDub is out of sync.

Yes. Set the video to 'direct stream copy' and use 'full processing' on the audio. Select the appropriate bitrate with the mp3 codec of your choice.

note: this method assumes that you have the 'divx audio codec' installed (divx audio = wma v2).
