Initially it will need to function like ratdvd (one click encode and one click decode and burn.)

This will be for a commercial application the encode will be a standalone app as will the decode, the decode will only be available to end users

quality of the end dvd is important and should be variable
menus and dvd extras must be intact and working.

It should handle DVD5 or DVD9

Intermediary compression codec is not as important as quality

it doesn't have to be hack proof but we would like the decoder to only decode files produced by the encoder (ie you can add a fake header or something to an MPEG4 file)

added features in subsequent releases would be online reporting to a server of each successfull decode (for our accounting purposes no sensitive data)

We have had someone working on this for over a month with no results and we are ready to look elsewhere.

If you can provide this in a relatively short time frame please email me at mikesouth at mikesouth.com and give me an idea of how long and how much.

Thanks!

Mike South

What you're asking aint exactly small potatoes.

First person that pops up in my head would be Splinter, the author of ratdvd, altho there hasnt been too much activity lately regarding ratdvd itself - so dunno if he is still around.

There's several real smarties on this site, but most of em code relatively small tools besides their day-job and this is a bigger task then just some thingy u tend to look at for an hour a day.

Perhaps mpucoder is up for some freelancing.. or neuron2.. they have the skills to do it for sure (imo best 2 coders on doom9), but no idea if they have the time, or are even willing to take such a task on.
Ask em nicely and dazzle em with a shitload of cash and maybe.. just maybe :)

Actually it shouldn't be too bad....a custom wrapper around ratdvd, dvdshrink or anything else that is licensable would be fine.

i dont like re-inventing the wheel any more than anyone else

and yes I work in adult but this app would actually have use beyond adult.

I'd be happy to discuss it with anyone and I pay well.
