Is there anyway to convince DVD-RB to also convert the HDTV transport streams into a DVD, using AviSynth filters to reduce the resolution and creating a compilant DVD
Yes I'm aware there is software that can already do this, but I want to be able to set filters if needed. The software I'm using at present uses its own video engine, and I don't have much control over anything (ConvertXToDVD) apart from the size of the DVD

I've found that you can read/encode almost any file with the "DirectShowsource()" AVISYNTH function as long as you have a codec for it. The problem is that DVD-RB needs other information as well. I've already started working on a "author from scratch" option to be used for making simple DVDs. It will be a little while before you see it included in DVD-RB, though. Maybe a couple of versions down the road.

Thats what I thought, I did think about creating one big VOB then running it through IfoEDIT to create the extra info
But until something better comesd along I'll stick to what I've found in one piece of software the VSO provides. The other methods were so long winded, demux this, join that, remux the other
All in the name of using freeware utils, sorry but I've got used to one click software now, even if they are not free
