Hi Everybody.
This COULD be long and convoluted so I will try to be brief and perhaps try ONE question at a time so that I (and you) don't get bogged down.
In the past I have successfully created DVD's of home movies, added music and transitions etc. A while ago I had Windows ME put on my machine. I have bought a new copy of Pinnacle V 9.3 and also use Sonic MyDVD V4.5(even though I have an update from the company that I can't get to work) My MAIN (and Ist) problem is that (using Sonic) it says "DVD Burned successfully, ejecting DVD". When I then try to play it on computer or dvd player there is no file. I can look at it on windows explorer and it is just blank!
I am REALLY perplexed.
Any ideas?? I'd be really grateful for any help with this as a start
Cheers and many thanks
magz

Hi!

For the actual burning, you might try using a different program...

Hi
Sorry, not been on computer for a while and now I'm off on holiday for one week. Once I get back, hopefully I'll have more photos and video to work with.
However, I think I may have found one problem rectified. I have been trying to overwrite DVD-RW's. I think perhaps they might be scratched?? as I did a slide show in Sonic MyDVD and it worked first time.
Thanks anyway
Cheers

Re-writable media is notorious for not being recognized by many standalone players. For instance, one of my old standalones would read Fuji+/- media, but would balk on Fuji RW's. Check out this link for RW-able media that others are using for your make/model.
Standalone/media compatiblilty database (]www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers)

Another thing you might try is formatting the disc before attempting to send your files to the burner. I can't remember the media, or the burner I was using at the time, but I did use this technique once upon a time to get around an invalid disc issue. You know when you attempt to overwrite a RW disc and you receive a prompt asking if you really want to do this? Try formatting the disc, first.

Hi there
thanks for these replies. i will have ago at this the next time.
having re-read the Do's & Don'ts on this page, I think perhaps I'll go through a 'Make Movie' and note down everything that happens then perhaps I'll either A, get it to work of B somebdoy else will be able to tell me where I'm going wrong.
Cheers everbody
