I have a huge problem here - yesterday I rented the [german] DVD 'Mr & Mrs Smith' (it's the real, bought one) from the Library, and when I put it into my drive, I started getting prompts from my firewall because it had some built-in autostart thingy. However, once I clicked yes or no there, PowerDVD couldn't play my DVDs anymore. SOmehow I managed to watch Mr & Mrs with a restart and PowerDVD & Firewall restarts in the end, but right now I wanted to watch a different DVD and it's absolutely not working anymore.

When I try to open a DVD with PowerDVD, I get an error saying this:

Error Code 890300000
Unkown file format.

When I try to open a DVD with DVD Shrink, I get this:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Invalid DVD navigation structure.

WTF am I supposed to do now? I tried re-installing PowerDVD but that didn't help. Something is badly screwed up deep in my system. And I don't have any software CDs or stuff with DVD drivers or tools here. :(

Does someone have any idea what this is all about and how I can fix it?

Alas..The German Release of this title comes complete with RootKit (Settec Alpha-DISC copy protection system)

You need to uninstall the rootkit with this unistaller
http://uninstall.settec.com/eng/

Note...Turn off that damned Auto Start feature in XP,its nothing but grief IMO

Thank you very much, you saved my life there for today :) :)

Copy protection should be forbidden, what a load of crap... Does more evil than good.

Simple thing, don't buy or rent DVDs, they don't want you to do that obviously.
