Hi,
I am interested in ripping small video clips to my computer. Currently, I use AutoGK with xVid to rip full movies, but I am also interested in ripping very small portions of movies. What are some recommended programs that can help me just to select a certain time interval in the movie that I want to rip? I would still like to use AutoGK to encode it, but I guess I am in need of a VOB editor?

AutoGK won't allow you to encode only a portion of a video, but you can use something like Cuttermaran to select only a portion of a rip which you can then encode with AutoGK. Gordian Knot is in general a better program in my opinion because of its superior control. Using DGIndex you can also use it to directly encode only a portion of a rippd DVD.
