Anyone know when the Xvid website will be updated? Sounds like there may be a few announcements when they do it.
On May 10th they put up this message.
"Sorry for the lack of news recently. But that doesn't mean there wouldn't be lots of progress in the background.
We're currently working hard on a full relaunch of the website with lots of new information.
The new site will be online next week. So stay tuned! "
Now it is June 17th.

I'm assuming their still working on it. I haven't heard anything in either the #xvid channel or on here to suggest it will be completed soon. however try xvidavc.com will bring up a password login. this might be where they have been testing the site but you can't see any of it due to the password

Are they serious, a four month delay (and counting), after saying it would take one week. And no explanation on the long delay. That's just pathetic.

sjakk -- you are right. They said a week, it has been four months. They could of least took the comment off of their web page.

another idiot. whoo hoo. Seriously they aren't exactly a buisness. You should expect nothing from them. they give their free time, and when their good and damn ready they will release the new website and any opther updates.
Seriously anymore posters whining about it not being updated yet need to just not post. Else hopefully someone will hand some strikes down for attempting to start an xvid flame war.

Whining and moaning for something you get for free is not nice...

Never forget, people, you're not allowed to be critical of something that's free.
And posting an update to a website is very hard work.

Maybe it's a hard work when you have real life issues.
Positive criticism is ALWAYS accepted. Whining? No...
This is not communism where the devs have to do it for the masses. It's a hobby work and everyone has his priority: above all things there's REAL LIFE.
You can also learn coding... afterall xvid is opensource! But i guess you have some real life priorities that prevent you from spending time learning C, C++ and x86 ASM...

I think the xvid web site is just low priority on developers' minds. It's still in development with the odd commits but obviously not in any state to give out real news. Developers tend to feel that posting just to mention a delay is spam, knowing that no posts means a delay, but non-developers see it as either unprofessional or "project's dead, go home now".
On the other hand this thread really doesn't need to rise to sjakke's bait.

Ok sorry guys, I did not anticipate this kind of response.
I've just been waiting impatiently (like a kid, with an unopened present) for the new site. And with the delay......well I got pretty annoyed, and not knowing why the delay is I got even more annoyed.
And foxyshadis.... I'm not trying to fish:)
I still have this opinion, but I shouldn't have posted it.
I just want to put out the fire and say: I understand your response and Sorry guys, won't happen again.

Childish thread. Closed.
The XviD guys will update when they are good and ready. If you don't like that feel free to use an alternative and/or go elsewhere.
