View Full Version : Nero REcode (v7) - ATSC TS -> Mp4 audio 1 second delay...

This is really weird. Never seen this with Nero before.
I have some transport streams (1080i). When I convert to AVC/5.1 AAC-HE the audio is 1 or 2 seconds behind. The streams playback perfectly.
Any suggestions?

Not enough CPU power to play back the AVC encode?

Nope,
PureVideo v192, 7800GTX (overclocked 10%) , AMD X2 4800 (overclocked to 5000 or so).
This is really weird. Latest, registered version of Recode 7.2083. I have not tried to "downgrade".
Also the video and - while delayed - audio looks great and smooth no slowdowns. Using about 19% CPU.
All other 1080p clips play fine.
Should I try to force "deinterlaced" maybe?????
Sharktooth: I am at wits end (off topic) getting MeGUI AAC-HE to work. Do I need to "force" Directshow decoding to get 5.1 AAC using the ND drop down? I upgraded everything - even to your latest 524 build of x264

Than add a delay. If you recode the ac3 to something else (or using another tool, like Belight), the problem is still there?

THere is no way to "add a delay" in recode. It was actually one of Nero's strengths - the fact it just plain worked. This is borked. I have tried 3 streams at 1080i. 720p is FINE.
It is seeing the 1080i ar 29.997 FPS - which is correct. Totally confused

those ts captures generally dont start at keyframes, so nero most likely encodes the video stream from the first keyframe (so not beginning at the filestart) and the audio right from the start -> desync
cut the ts so that the video stream starts with a keyframe

Can I do this with HDTV2MPEG? What do you suggst to ensure a b-frame cut?

1-pass encoding is NOT out of sync - but 2 pass is. I will keep experimenting

sjchmura, please binary cut out a few seconds of the beginning of the problematic ts and provide that for reproduction. Thanks.
