View Full Version : Need help with AutoGK and a 10 gig TS file...

I'm trying to use AutoGK to crunch some rather large Xvid movies to something more managable, say a DVD5 or DVD9 size. Just testing a small TS file as input and clicking Start didn't produce anything and Virtualdub failed to launch on the 2nd pass, making a 0byte output file.

Please help.

If there is a guide to convert a TS movie into a large Xvid with AutoGK, please call me a newb and post the link :)

Hi,

Can you preview this TS in AGK? (Select input/name output/click preview)
If yes, something goes wrong at analysis or after
If not, DGDI (DG decode/Index) chokes on your TS file; there are TS and TS (compliant or not). More infos on your source (by Gspot) may prove useful.

...and Virtualdub failed to launch on the 2nd pass, making a 0byte output file.
Now I am puzzled, if AGK doesn't start, it doesn't start VdubMod (and not Vdub) either...
If you launch Vdub manually, it may be a different issue and to discuss elsewhere...

Did you browse this sticky: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=92089 and it's related links?

The more clear and simple infos you give, the more answers you may get :)

Sorry for the reply delay, wasn't in town last night.

No. Hitting preview opens up a small window that is processing something and then it goes away, that's it.

If not, DGDI (DG decode/Index) chokes on your TS file; there are TS and TS (compliant or not). More infos on your source (by Gspot) may prove useful.

Gspot literally says nothing (or N/A) about everything in the .ts file. What I did was download somebody's capture of Batman Begins in 100+ .ts files. I used HDTVToMpeg to convert all the .ts files into one large one. My test of AutoGK was to just point it at one of the 100+ .ts files to see what it does since testing a 10 gig file isn't going to be quick.

My use of AutoGK was limited. Awhile ago I was making WMV videos out of .ts files. On a different forum, somebody suggested a way to do that with AutoGK to get it to autogenerate some config files, cancel and then use Vdub to do the WMV part. Since then I decided to say eff it to the whole WMV idea and just use Xvid.

I did look at that sticky for the guides but they all discuss setting up ifo and vobs and whatnot to compress to a CD or two. I'm trying to go the other way, take the large .ts and shrink it a little bit hehe

Thanks for the reply!

I decided to make my testing even easier. Grabbed the newest HDTVTOMpeg on the front page and made a 10 meg .ts file :)

This is what the log is doing when I let it go for a spin with AutoGK:

Then Vdub just gives an error of, "Fastwritestream: couldn't open E:\test.0000.avi"; the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process"

then AGK says the job is finished.

Before installing the latest AGK I made sure to uninstall the old one I had and all the other stuff like xvid and let AGK install everything including the xvid that came with it. I can watch xvids.

Anyways, that's where I stand right now

What I did was download somebody's capture of Batman Begins in 100+ .ts files. Please read and follow forum rules, specifically, rule 6: no discussion of improperly obtained copyrighted materials. Thank you.
