I recently joined 8 small videoclips into one by loading the first one, then appending the second, the third, and so on. The runtime of all 8 individual clips is 8m43s, but the appended file lasts 8m46sec. Why does that happen? If I later reencode each clip, append all the reencodes together and mux it with the big audio file, will it stay in synch?

The runtime of all 8 individual clips is 8m43s, but the appended file lasts 8m46secThat's likely only the result of "rounding off". A clip that's listed as 1minute and 6 seconds is probably actually 1minute and 6.4 seconds. If you add 0.4 seconds to each of the 8 clips, it totals an additional 3+ seconds...

I see, thanks :). Now I seem to recall asking a similar question a long time ago :o.
