can't see mp4 video with quicktime pro

hi!

i want to cut my mp4 into smaller files, but i cant see to see the video in quicktime pro when i open my mp4 file. only hear sound. pls advice on wat i should do. codec missing maybe? but i am able to play it on media player classic

sounds to me as if the mp4 is high profile (which quicktime doesn;t support) so there is nothing you can do in quicktime to make it work.
