Problems with doom9 forum!

I have been getting "site unavailable messages" for the last 24 hours and this is only the second time I have been able to pull up the doom9 forum site...what's up?

Anyone else having this problem?

When I first aquired the forum today there were only two members logged in...BTW, I have never just seen as few as two members logged in. I was then kicked from the site. I reaquired the site and tried to post this thread (there were eleven members logged in at that time). I was kicked off again, then reaquired the forum, logged in and was able to post this thread (there were about 20 members logged in at that time).

I am still here for the past 30 minutes so that is good.

Well, everything seems to be working O.K. now at the forum (60 members logged in) so maybe it was just those darned server gremlins that had to be flushed out.:)

I had the problem most of last evening, from the doom9.org page I clicked forum and was getting page could not be displayed messages.

Betaboy told me that an inside source told him that the Doom9 forums was being shut down. Apparently Nero (who hosts this particular forum from what I understand) doesn't want to host it anymore.

Can anybody confirm this?

Wednesday the 7th, the box this forum runs on was being rebuilt. There was a communication glitch so the admin team of the forum didn't know beforehand just when it was going to happen.
Then on Thursday the 8th, from 16:30 till about 18:30 CET, the server was being rebooted in 15 minute intervals.. but whom and why we hope to learn today (it must've been somebody at the hosting company).

Regardless, I don't get why anybody would spread such rumors. First and foremost, this forum is not hosted by Nero, and never has been. It would take you less than a minute to figure that out as it's a widely published fact that ateme provides the forum server.
And then, neither the admin team here nor the admin of the box himself have any indication that there will be any changes in the hosting agreement in the short term. The forum will stay right here.

I spoke to betaboy and he told me he was just kidding when he spoke to revgen.

Last but not least, why would anybody believe that somebody with no association to ateme had better info than those within ateme themselves?

Well as far as I can determine from the IP address that comes up in my browser, it seems to point to a server located in Roubaix, France: -
