webcam capture overlay system time

For an experimental setup at my work i want to capture video from a webcam and embed the windows system time into it.
I want to save it as a regular AVI file. I was hoping someone here could give me some feedback about what tools I could best use to achieve this in the most simple way.
Any help/feedback is greatly appreciated!
