Rip of 4:3 and 16/9 mixed scenes

Hi,

I would like to rip a dvd whose principal video is a mix of 4:3 and 16/9 scenes.
I would like to avoid black lines to gain video quality but there is that's damned 4:3 scenes.
Suggestions on how to proceed ?
