Hey guys,

I am not that new to DVD "back ups". ;) I was trying to back up an Indiana Jones movie that was originally bought in Europe. The DVD plays fine on my computer, but will not play in any of my home entertainment DVD players. My understanding is there is a region code conflict.

1. I tried using DVDShrink to copy the movie and was unsuccessful.
2. I tried using DVDFab Decrypter then backing up with DVDShrink and was unsuccessful.
3. I tried using DVD Decryptor then backing up with DVDShrink and was unsuccessful.

What would you guys reccommend for me? Thank you in advance!

Mitch

Hi!

It's not ONLY a region conflict (which can be easily resolved with DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter), it's a FORMAT difference (presuming you are in Region 1) - Region 1 uses NTSC format, while most European DVDs use PAL format...

Hey,

I didn't even think of that! Thanks!

Hm... So is there anyway I can get around that?

hi MitchC and welcome to the forum!

format conversion of an entire dvd is an extremely advanced task and not one i would recommend to even an experienced user.

that being said, if all you require is the main movie, i would reccomend you take a look at DVD2SVCD as it has an automated format conversion for PAL to NTSC.

alternatively a forum search on "convert PAL NTSC" will yield many results and is a great way to start the learning process.

good luck

find the hidden code for your player.usually it is a code on your remote controll, then press"0"nad u have a free regional player.
it is legal...

try some website like moviehelp? not sure...or just put the model of your player and we will look for you.

Hey,

Thanks for your help. I will try to find the codes for my players, but if you find them before me; that's a plus. :)

Panasonic SA-HT920

as previously noted, a region free player will not help in this case. you would need a system (dvd player and display - t.v.) that can handle pal playback ...
