I have a DivX 3 encoded video file that shows a considerable amount of motion lag. Whenever, there is a lot of motion in the video, it feels like you're playing a modern FPS on Pentium 2. At the moment I am using FFdshow 20060426 to decode this video file. Strangely I have another DivX 3 video that plays just fine without any lag.
Usually, I would simply find a dedicated decoder for DivX 3.11 Alpha, but I like to limit the amount of additional decoders that I install and simple rely on FFdshow.
From my research I found that DivX 3 could be encoded in Low Motion mode, my guess is that my video was encoded in this mode. Is there any way to solve this problem? Would a simple rencode help? If yes, then could anyone point me to nice DivX 3.11 VFW decoder/encoder, because VirtualDubMod can't seem to work with this file.
