View Full Version : Menus for DVD compilation

I have created DVDs which contain episodes from a mix of DVDs. I have used Recode2 for this job. I play the created DVds by using the remote to select a title number on the DVD player. It works ok but has no style.

I would like to add a most basic menu to this, provided this can be done without too much trouble. I am not very demanding. A simple text screen with titles would be heaven already.

Anyone with a link for a guide or thread where this is covered?

thanks and greetings

Find a product called Titlewriter by our member Fallen in the IFO/VOB editors forum.

Well, thanks a lot for the information. Is there a good guide on its use? I am currently trying to puzzle through the two downloaded zip files...

Edit: Ah, there is a file with pictures in the zip too... :readguid:

Since you apparently have the NERO suite, I believe you can also accomplish this by using NERO Vision...

Arghhh....
It was on my hard disk all the time...
I just launched it for the first time. Seems quite easy to use.
I'll see what comes out of it when the disk drops into the player!

:thanks:

I presume you are referring to NERO Vison, as I had suggested.I'll see what comes out of it when the disk drops into the player!Let us know how it goes ;>}

yep, I was refering to Nerovision Express. I just took the disk out of the player. The menu works better than I ever hoped for. I could add the vob files to the project, the episodes were recognized, buttons were provided etc. It took only a few minutes to hit the GO button. Sounded too good to be true. And sure enough, it was. Subtitles are gone, second language is gone, chapters are gone.

Perhaps someone here knows a way to prevent this? Is someone using this tool to create a menu after or before using recode?

thanks

Edit: I am really looking for a tool or application that helps me build a menu as Vision Express does, but that does keep chapters as well as audio and subtitles.

Thank you chetwood for your reply. I just took a look at their page and learned that I would need the best version to handle subtitles and languages. At 200 bucks, this is going to be a rather expensive menu. ;)

At this point, I have already learned something very important, namely how I am going to edit stuff from my standalone DVD-recorder. For that, Nero Vision Express seems to be very usefull.

I also own a few more such programms, which I haven't even installed yet. Most of them came along with burners, like pinnacle studio 9. I wonder that Nero did not include this ability in recode, when they have the tools all in the package.
