I don't remember if there's a topic for this. (If it is, please link here.) The goal is to find out the best config to a certain situation. (Maybe it will be a sticky :) )
So I wonder what kind of config do you use. Here is some key points:
- TV equipement
- aspect ratio: 4:3, 16:9
- type: CRT, Plasma, LCD
- size: 32'
- physical connection type and length: rca, S-Video, etc., 5m
- videocard
- type: Leadtek 6600GT
- driver version and settings: clone, extended desktop, resolution, refresh rate etc.
- player settings
- player name: MPC, ZoomPlayer, etc.
- settings: Overlay, VMR9, etc
- additional filter settings: eg. ffdshow for color conversion...
- additional utils (eg. Radlinker for TV detect)
- pros and cons for the specific config
If I missed something useful feel free to post.
So here is my config:
- TV: Sony KV-KV-29FX66, CRT, 4:3, 29', 5m S-Video cable
- videocard: Leadtek GeForce 6600GT, v81.85, extended desktop: (monitor res: 1280*1024 @ 60Hz, TV res: 720*576 @ 50Hz), flicker filter: 0
for the TV device: color correction: desktop: Digital Vibrance: Medium, Image Sharpening: 3/4
- player: MPC, overlay + vsfilter (for subs)
- pros: changable aspect ratio and zooming capabitlites
- cons: the aspect ratio of the TV Desktop is bad
-------------
My friend config:
- TV: Samsung WS-32Z308P, CRT, 16:9, 32', 10m S-Video cable
- videocard: ATI 9600, OmegaDriver latest, Theatre mode, (resolution doesn't matter)
- player: MPC, overlay + vsfilter (for subs)
- pros: pefrect output
- cons: unchangable aspect ratio (if the media is wrong)
