I'm trying to get an Image of a DVD I own onto a DVD 5 using DVD Rebuilder Pro. When it has gone through the whole process it is still to big for the DVD 5. What should I do to make it work?

Okay. The DVD Im trying to back up is region two and is 7.44 GB in size. I ripped it to my HD and used the HC encoder with DVD Rebuilder Pro to Shrink it to size. When It had finished I found that the files that this process had yielded were a total of 4.39 GB in size. I deleted these and tried again using QuEnc. When this process finished it left files that had a total of 4.82 GB in size. Please tell me if any more Info is required and I'll post it.

that s a problem with dvd rebuilder pro.I bought this software, give me satisfaction but got undersized sometimes... u should report this problem to the programmer.
you can still cut the end with dvd shrink.

for best results be sure to post in appropriate forum-> http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?f=75
I would assume it has some issues with the ripping, or a lot of small cells.
but the details are needed ripping methods, any secial rebuilder settings, a log& possibly an ini. file.
I think the answer will come swiftly if you post this info in the above linked rebuilder forum :)
I don't know if you are but, alway's try multipasses when you run into sizing issue's!

I had a similar problem. May not be the same though. My files were slightly oversized. I was used HC 0.18. jdobbs recommended I try HC 0.17 so I did and the files were the correct size. I had this problem only with one movie (Alien 3 R1).

I think it is a problem with HC I use CE and I always have slightly under 4.7 G but can't be dead on. I do however use the trial addition right now (i actually almost prefer it over the pro--if it was for being a donation basis i'm sure i would not pay for pro because the trial is so great and has all the needed features, i actually found pro to be a little more complicated and with less documentation--yes i have tried pro but did not actually compress anything when i found out it wouldn't and it was a stolen version) till i get my computer redone that is.....as i had said in a previous post
