Hey all,
I was just wondering what resolutions everybody uses for DVD to XViD conversion?
I understand that DVD resolution is 720 x 576 (for PAL) which converts to 768 x 576 (for 4:3) or 1024 x 576 (for 16:9).
Obviously I could convert at that resolution for a 1:1 encoding, but that would defeat the point of trying to compress the source.
What are popular resolutions to choose? Does it make any difference if it's destined to be viewed on a PC monitor or on a TV through the PC? I thought the experts here would be the best to ask!
Thanks in advance
Jon
