Hi
I am converting a DVD which I recorded from TV. The source is only 2.8 GIG.
My avi is 1.2 gig now, and the quality is worse.
Yes you may say that this will always be the cause, but I feel that something isnt perfect here in my setup.
I am using mencoder, 3 pass encoding. First audio, then the video source.
At the last setup, I use a bitrate setting.
Isnt there another way? Like to set up a fixed quality.
I think I would be happy with a quality of 85%. But I see the blocks clearly, and part of the picture is blocky.
The video pictures is significantly less sharp than what I usually see from the standard 700 MB vids. :(
Thus I must be doing something incorrectly. Hmm
Does this make any sense what I am trying to say?
Maybe other people are reencoding differently.
