Hello,

i'm new to the whole DVD thing but i'm and advanced pc-user, so i will post my first posting here, is this ok ? ;)

I bought a DVD-ROM drive (Toshiba SDM-1612) and a DVD-Player (Toshiba 210-E with firmware 1.40/2.10-R2). I'm completely satisfied with these two, but one thing is, that Movies (f.eŽ. The Sixth Sense) have A/V-sync-problems, means the audio is about 0,5 seconds delayed. I read all the threads in the forums about sync problems and tried all tips and hints, without success.

I'm not using title or change pictures and tried to set the startup delays on the bbMPEg tab to 240 ms without success.

I then did a lot of testing with the cinema trailer of "The Sixth Sense" that is 2:18 min long. (So testing was quite fast)

The only settings that work perfect for me are 180 ms for video and 60 ms for audio1 and audio2 or (240 /120 /120). So as an result, the audio delay has to be about 120 ms lower then the video delay.

So after all this, here is my question to the advanced users:

Will this have an effect on playing my created SVCDs on other DVD-Players and what will be the better setting (180 / 60 /60) or (240 / 120 / 120)? - I think it will be (240 / 120 / 120) because it is only 60 ms away to both sides of the standard of 180 ms, so that it should be less trouble on other DVD-Players? - Or am i wrong with this ?

P.S. I'm using 1.0.5 Build 1 or 1.0.4 Build 2 without any difference in the effect

Thank you in advance and sorry for my english because i'm german and it's been quite a long time i had to write or speak in english.

Hi,

this is a known issue. Actually, it was because of this player that dvd2svcd had added support for delay settings. I guess (240/120/120) is a good choice, but it is just a feeling...
And yes, probably you will have async issues playing these svcds in another player, if it is not toshiba 210-e

This was posted here before. It was a lengthy one at that. I know you can't search, but try looking for it.
