Hello,
in this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=111799) I mentioned a problem I have with latest x264 codec versions. I just paste it here:
I have problems with latest x264 builds (528, 529, 530). They produce video, which can't be played in MPC (with FFDShow 2546) neither in VLC 0.8.5. I tried MP4 and MKV output from MeGUI 0.2.3.2155 (with standard AE preset). Now I'm trying VfW version in VirtualDub. What might be wrong with these builds? Or am I doing something wrong?

So the AVI encoded in VirtualDub did play fine. MPC used a decoder called "Avi Decompressor (H264)". I have no idea what is this filter. I don't remember installing another AVC decoder then FFDShow. I tested the file in VLC - same result as before. The video seems to play, but there are only vertical stripes with different colours which don't even move.

I tried to convert the movie to MP4 in YAMB (1.5, I know it isn't the latest version). I reported to convert the file succesfully, but no output was created. So I demuxed it to .H264 stream a then muxed into MP4 and this time it worked. But the resulted file couldn't be played. It was the same as my previously created MP4 and MKV files (using commandline encoder and MeGUI). I would suspect some DirectShow filters, but since the video doesen't play even in VLC, I'm really confused.

I'll try to do some more tests on my home PC (now I'm at work) and I'll let you know results. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know.

Thank you,
Vlada
