View Full Version : Sorry - again: GKnot and heavily undersized files

Hi,
I have a problem using GKnot: I made a lot of mpeg2 (~1,5 gb) -> avi (xvid, ~800 mb)) with the "standard settings" of the "Gordian knot illustrated guide by dap & JS".
So far it worked very well - but since some days it always makes avi's with an file size of about 150 mb, although I expected the usual 700 mb. I tried several "standard" mpeg2's - always the same problem.
I use the "Gordian Knot Codec Pack 1.9" and "GordianKnot0.35".

Can anybody help ??

Thanks !

Have you changed any settings within the XviD codec? You might try the unrestricted preset.

No, I haven't changed anything within the codec. But I have installed AutoGK several weeks ago - for comparison purpose. Perhaps thgis is the reason.
I will uninstall anything an try it again with a fresh install.
Thanks

Try the unrestricted preset first - open Gordian Knot and click the Options tab, then click the First Pass XviD button and select "(unrestricted)" in the first drop-down list and click Ok. Repeat for the Second Pass.

Hi.

I have the same problem. I configure avi to 700MB, at the end i get like 615MB...
And I can't find this "(unrestricted)" under xvid options (xvid 1.1)

If you're using Gordian Knot and you've clicked either First Pass or Second Pass under "XviD default codec settings in the Options tab, the (unrestricted) is the last one under the Profile @ Level dropdown list.

I uninstalled my xvid and installed new one and now i have this "unrestricted". I'll try with this too.
