Hi,
I have somes avi files in which the video is encoded with xvid and the audio with ogg. Here's the scenario:

On my PC:
- OggDS 0.9.9.5 was already installed and play the files just fine
- Uninstalled 0.9.9.5 and installed 0.9.9.6 and it still works.

On my Laptop:
- No ogg codecs had ever been installed.
- Installed 0.9.9.6, didn't work ("The specified module could not be found.", error in WMP10).
- Unistalled and installe v0.9.9.5 and it still didn't work.
- Uninstalled and installed radlight 1.0.0.2 and it worked. However, the seeking is horrible and I don't really want to use it.

One difference from the PC to the laptop that I can recall is this:
- On the PC, I had installed xvid codec and later Divx 6.0 and selected yes to use divx 6 directshow to play also xvid streams.
- On the laptop, only the kopie xvid binaries are installed.

Any ideas? How can I make it work on the laptop with the oggds codecs?

never place ogg vorbis inside avi! avi cant handle vorbis correctly

try to demux the audio and mux the video and audio into mkv or ogm

didn't work with the latest ffdshow (the alpha) and oggds 0.9.9.6.

@bond
I didn't, I downloaded the file like that...

Installed and reinstalled many codecs/filters and now I only have the latest ffdshow and oggds and the files play... however, they do not play on radlight 4, I get this error message:

# RLGB error : File source will not connect to splitter - <filepath/filename>

Anyone knows why and if it's possible to fix? Or will I have to demux the avi files, convert to mp3 and mux them again.

By the way, I also have subtitles for theses files, do you think I should let the audio in ogg and put everything in a ogm file with subs? I want to be able to play on radlight...

I highly recommend demuxing everything and then remuxing to an mkv container, it should fix all of your problems. And you can also use your subs.

you might also try Haali Media splitter.

If the files were created using ACM, then some dshow decoders might not handle it. Can't remember, but you might have to use the ACM decoder. ffmpeg muxed files last time I tried, only ffmpeg/ffplay would decode them properly.

As already stated. Don't use vorbis in avi.

The other thing about vorbis ACM is that there were various releases and you needed a matching version to decode.

but that couldn't be the issue, caus I installed the same decoders/filters on a friend's pc and it worked... however, it's working on my too now... And with media player classic, I saw that it was was using a filter from the radlight 4 package (not the oggds nor the radlight ogg standalone filter), and the seeking seems to be functional enough.
