I just ripped my King Kong to my hard drive. I have been following a tutorial where after ripping, I used VOBblanker and MenuShrink to reduce the size of the file for backup. Then I would use DVD Shrink and DVDdecrypter to burn the backup.
However I see in DVD Shrink the backup would use 53% compression which is too much for my liking.
I have a Plextor PX 760A burner and dual layer DVD's for backup.
How do I burn the the ripped King Kong without any compression to a dual layer DVD and have the highest quality backup?
Thanks

Do ISO read and then ISO write, pointing to the MDS file it makes along with the ISO.

As your thread stated, when you are doing a "compression", you will loose some of the quality from the original source.
Also, if you indeed have the hardware mentioned:

You may want to check if your drive supports dual layer burning.
There's no point in having dual layer DVDs if you can't burn them.
When you use a dual layer DVD, it can hold more information than the average single layer DVD, by double the capacity.
So you wouldn't need to compress anything if you can fit it all in one DVD.
Get the point?
You may want to look at this other thread here:

And please, no offense but, use the search option next time before opening a new thread.
Cheers ;)

If you search these forums for "King Kong", you'll discover that due to the digital nature of the film, even compressing the ENTIRE DVD results in an excellent quality backup ;>}

The Plextor does Dl DVD's. If I burn a DL DVD will the DL DVD play on stand alone DVD players or does it have to be a DVD player in a computer?
" Use DVD Decrypter in "ISO" mode to "Write .ISO" (burn) - Note: Select the ".MDS" file rather than the ".ISO" file, to ensure proper placement of the critical layerbreak"
WHere in DVD Dycrypter do I have the option to select ".MDS" file?
Thanks
