First I wasn't sure where to post this, since it doesn't easilly fit into the other categories and since it spans a few I thought this area best. Mods, move this if you feel it needs moving.

With the upcoming world cup i've had the idea of buying myself either a Nokia N70 or N91 mobile phone and streaming the games live from my home machine.

The last world cup I streamed the games by using real etc to my work pc.

This time I want to view the games wherever I am.

I've come across a few sites, however they all seem to be focused on streaming files of stuff that have already been converted (see http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20050503211846423 and http://www.torrentocracy.com/blog/archives/2006/05/streaming_mytht_1.shtml).

There are as I see it a few hurdles.

* Encoding the video on the fly. (not hard for my machine, Athlon 64 X2 4800+ but finding a program that does this seems hard to find)
* Format issues, looking at the manuals of the phones the format of the video seems a bit vague. From what I can tell mp4 encapsulated in 3GP seems my best bet. (mentions of realplayer in the manuals, are they capable of realvideo?)

There are probably other issues but I consider these two the biggest.

Does anyone own either the N70 or N91 here and care to comment on whether they have tried live video streaming?
Is the N70/N91 even capable of live video streaming or is it file streaming only?

Does anyone know of any programs that can encode video from a tv card to a compatible 3gp mobile phone video format?

You should try Orb from www.orb.com it's for free and does exactly what you want (plus more)
I've been using it a while.
