Problem Backing up a DVD - Straw Dogs Bonus Disc

If I'm posting this in the wrong place or in the wrong way, please let me know.

I am trying to back-up the bonus disc for the Criterion Collection of Straw Dogs, Disc Two.

I copy the image to my hard drive using DVD Decrypter. Then I mount the image with Daemon Tools.

Fine so far.

Then I point DVD Shrink 3.2 at the now-mounted image and it gives me the following error:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Failed to read file "F:\"

I poke around and see that the disc structure of the mounted disc lacks an AUDIO_TS folder.
I check the original Retail disc and sure enough it ALSO lacks this folder. I've never encountered that before. So I open up UltraISO and add an empty folder to the image, calling it AUDIO_TS, and save the image.

Then when I mount the resulting image and point DVD Shrink 3.2 at it, the new error message is:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Failed to open file "F:\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.VOB"
The system cannot find the file specified.

Again, I can see that the image and the retail disc both lack this file, and again, I have never seen this before in a retail DVD. Both the retail disc and the image contain VIDEO_TS.BUP and VIDEO_TS.IFO files but no VIDEO_TS.VOB.

So I'm stumped. Does anyone know how to create a VIDEO_TS.VOB from scratch? Or is that what I need to do to get DVD Shrink to read it? I was hoping to break this DVD9 into two DVD5s.

Hi!

1) Have you tried simply using DVD Shrink to rip and process the original DVD, rather than starting with DVD Decrypter?

2) If by "image", you mean an .ISO image file then, from the "File" dropdown menu, select "Open Disc Image"...

Making sure it's the latest bleeding edge DVD Shrink build helps too. And maybe you should just try DVD-RB, which probably won't have those ugly hangups. I can't test on anything or I'd check.
