Visual effect modifying DCT coeff

I am testing the visual impact of differents parameters on H.264.
I want to test the modification of DCT coefficients on I-frames only.
Using x264 library, I checked x264_denoise_dct() in macroblocs and tried to adapt it but I am not able to process on I-frame...
Somebody has an idea :p ?
