Get it @ http://gotdotnet.com/workspaces/workspace.aspx?id=1bb59ddf-901b-43a5-bd54-b0999e8e223e

bsn.dll drop-in replacement by dimzon
this dll will allow to use new free NeroDigital AAC CLI encoder from BeSweet
this bsn.dll has compatible switches (just replace old one with this new and enjoy)

obsolete switches are (now this switches are ignored)
-codecquality_*
-usepns
-downmix
-muxintovideo
-exportaac
-optimize

new switches are
-vbr <number> : Enables "target quality" mode.
<number> is a floating-point number in 0...1 range.
-abr <number> : Specifies "average bitrate" mode.
<number> is target bitrate in kbits per second.
-aacprofile_hev2 : Forces use of HEv2 AAC profile

-vbr_* are still supported (provide me better mapping if you know)
-vbt_tape == -vbr 0.1
-vbr_radio == -vbr 0.2
...
-vbr_transcoding == -vbr 0.8

Note!
neroAacEnc.exe must be into BeSweet folder!

Enjoy ;)

Thanks dimzon :thanks:

I think there is a problem with multichannels streams. They are always stereo downmixed if we want to keep all channels.

I've made a small hack to enable multichannel output : http://www.mytempdir.com/685640

edit: use -6chnew switch in the command line...

Hmmm.
Why Did You coment out
p = my_strcat(p, "-ignorelength")

talking about -6chnew support - AFAIK when you using it in combination with 5.1 input You will get valid 6 in nChannelsCount so You doesn't need MultiChan flag and -6chnew analyse at all...

I believe You just made something wrong during Your test
Just tested my Dll (without Your hack):
BeSweet.exe -core( -input "C:\ab\tst.ac3" -output "C:\ab\tst.mp4" ) -azid( -c heavy --maximize ) -bsn( -6chnew -vbr_internet -codecquality_high -aacprofile_he ) -ota( -g max ) -boost( /b3=5 /l=0.95 )

fb2k reports:
tool = Nero AAC codec / May 1 2006
bitrate = 228
samplerate = 44100
channels = 6
codec = AAC
encoding = lossy
codec_profile = SBR
----------
10411008 samples @ 44100Hz
File size: 6 764 388 bytes

So Your "hack" is completly NOT requed at all!

This is not disable I put this at the end...

I think I found my fault...I used -dimzon(...) instead of -bsn(...). :rolleyes:

Seem's like Your trying to create all-in-one encoder (FAAC/Nero/MP+/CTAAC/Speex) plugin... Why do You want to combine all of them together ?
exeName1 == "bla-bla-bla.exe"
Will NOT work bcz it will compare pointers, not value.
use 0==strcmp(exeName1 ,"bla-bla-bla.exe") instead

Great, thanks Nero and this BSN, I can finally use Besweet to encode to AAC. I never succeed with the "old" BSN and Nero dll...
It is possible to set the priority for the NeroEncoder process in the besweet command?

Furthermore, do you use the switches -lc, -he, -hev2 in this BSN ? Nero says: "Note that the above switches (-lc, -he, -hev2) should not be used; optimal AAC profile is automatically determined from quality/bitrate settings when no override is specified. "

I ve tried 2 qualities with a 12 min 448k AC3
-bsn( -6chnew -vbr_streaming -codecquality_high -aacprofile_he) -> get a 319k AAC, LC codec
-bsn( -6chnew -vbr_internet -codecquality_high -aacprofile_he) -> get a 192k AAC, SBR codec (HE)

Both have 6 channels, and have been checked in foobar2000.
So it seams that -aacprofile do not have any influence.

I remade the test with a 2 channels 192k AC3, and got the same results: streaming is LC (102k), internet is HE (66k).
There is quite a huge bitrate difference between the both, will it make sense to force the switch to allow a HE streaming profile?

I can't get this to work ... it's not even trying. Source is a 2.0 AC3 commentary track, so I'm not looking for a lot of quality here...

It's using Lame instead of NeroAACEnc! BeLight is 0.2.2.0 beta 9, NeroAacEnc is 1.0.0.2, besweet is 1.5b31 and bsn.dll is the one right off the link at the top of this thread.

6ch seems to work OK

-codecquality_fast refers to the old Nero encoder. So, if you want to use it, you must have also aacenc32.dll & aac.dll in BeSweet folder.

and btw, BeLight 0.22 beta 9 doesn't support the new ND encoder engine. You must use the last daily build.

Hi sorry to bother but the 'latest' link doesn't seem to work. I get the following error: Error in count_file on line 800.
./BeLight/BeLight-0.22_RC1.zip is already defined.

Can someone please provide me with an updated link to the latest bsn.dll build?

Thanks a lot,

Greets

the link should be fine now...try again.
