Quick guide: installing Megui + x264

There appears to be people who are confused about this. I was too but this appears to work.


Download latest megui-exe and megui-libs from http://megui.org/auto/
Unzip both files files to same folder.
Run Megui and its auto updater will download all other required stuff.

It's correct, but I don't like it, because the files you are getting are in fact megui autoupdate files, not actual distributions. bob0r is distributing builds of megui.exe, and I have told him that he should actually use the contents of the MinDist folder produced by compile.bat, which (if he does that) will mean that you can get working distributions from x264.nl. Until then, though, go ahead with what you're doing.

@Berrinam, Sorry for asking this in completely irrelevant thread, but I'm curious to know that what is it in you Avatar? Is it some kinda fruit?
I found out that its filename is "Export Wizard", but knowing that didn't help. :D

Yup, i now created megui-installer.exe
Including these files:
AvisynthWrapper.dll
Changelog.txt
gpl.txt
ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll
megui.exe
MessageBoxExLib.dll
updatecopier.exe
Data/*

(i used the x264 .ico and .bmp for this installer, so if anyone has some of those for megui, let me know)

This is correct then i guess..... now all we need is a version check on the updater so megui won't update the same or newer files.

When I came up with the nickname berrinam, I thought it ought to have an avatar that related to the name, so I thought I would put a berry there. A Google Image Search for berry returns that as one of the highest results, and it was the best one I could find without doing too much work (well, I did make the background transparent, but that was all). It actually seems to come from this blog: http://www.tleaves.com/weblog/archives/000110.html and according to that, there is some confusion, but it is probably a black raspberry.
