Howdy,
Sorry for the basic question here, but I cant find and answer :)
When using DVD-RB with an avisynth filter & doing a multi-pass encoding (ie. cce with a 7 pass), does DVD-RB run the filter once only, or once for each 'pass' ?

As I understand it, I believe the filters are applied once only. I assume it will be the first pass so that CCE can work on the actual encoding of the altered source
7 passes is a bit of an overkill though, even the CCE manual says anything over 2 passes won't make much of a difference except in terms of time
But, saying that there are people on here who have found 5-6 passes can make a difference to very high motion movies, like Star Wars or LOTR

Each pass. Otherwise you would get CRC error from CCE.

The filter definitely has to be applied to each pass -- if not the encoder wouldn't properly allocate the bits based upon the output of the filters.
