I have just recently been using the Scart to Red, White and yellow jacks, but wondered what difference would there be if I choose the S-VHS connector instead of the yellow, would the end result be any better quality?

Its S-Video (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Video) not S-VHS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-VHS)... ;)
And yes, it should result in better quality than composite (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Composite_video)!

I bought a Scart to S-Video and phono, but when I hooked it up to the front inputs on my DVD recorder and VHS recorder the signal was bad, and no matter what I tried to configure within my DVD recorder settings nothing would sort it.
It does say however in the booklet that when trying to play VHS to DVD would not be possible especially due to copywrite, but I wonder why it works alright when I use the Scart to Analogue Red - White and Yellow analogue jacks.
Is it because when using a Video lead it is being distorted to disable you from being able to digitally record properly.
Of course the problem occurs even before you play a VHS tape, the colours are few and the picture is all over the place.
I am just going back to the old way that seems to work ok without using the S-Video input and lead.
