View Full Version : Been a while since I did some backups, what's new?

I hear DVD Decrypter has been pulled? Is it still used? (I still have it installed)

What about updates though? I remember there being problems with a few films because of protection, Alien V Predator and another film, where you had to use dummy files? (trying to rack my brain here, can't remember which forum I went on to discuss that, can you? Might have been the dvd decrypter forum tbh)

My fave progs are DVD Shrink and DVD Fab, are they still being updated?

Cheers.

Hey thanks for bringing that up. Here is a post I found after a search:

"The development of decrypter has stopped, so It doesn't support the newest protections. Use DVDFab decrypter. It will also eliminate the problem you have with DVDshrink. Try backing up your DVDs with shrinkto5 but watch out for ad-aware."

I use DVD rebuilder and CCE SP to backup the DVDs I buy.

DVD decrypter has really let themselves go. I guess DVDfab is the new good one. I've used it before. It's nice.

DVD decrypter has really let themselves go. You shouldn't talk like that when you don't know the whole story. It's almost strikable.

@neuron2 - Almost?

@dmuk - If you wanna continue using DVD Decrypter with ARccOS disks, use the process outlined in Kill ARccOS in my signature.

Hi!

In order for you to better understand what the moderator, "neuron2", is referring to regarding "the whole story" about DVD Decrypter, you might want to read the article at the following link:

http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/6501.cfm

Despite this information being relatively common knowledge, I guess there are still some members (and others) who are not yet familiar with the past events related to DVD Decrypter...

And, to answer your other query - DVD Shrink is not being updated and DVD Fab (http://www.dvdidle.com/) is (although it is no longer freeware).

Absolutely, there are plenty of us "readers and contributers" that know what is out there, and that is because we "read" and "search".

I want to state that i edited my comment per neuron2's advice.
@Burning Fury

Please edit out the insult to dmuk (at which point I will edit this out of my post). One transgression does not justify another.

No further comments...

Cheers :)

You're right, I would have had a lot more success using google. Without the overzealous moderating too. I'll think twice before I post on Doom9 forums again.

:search: :readfaq: :readrule: :stupid: etc

Lock please :rolleyes:
