when i make soft subs in to hard subs with virualdub

hi i hope some can help . when i use virualdub to make soft subs into hard subs in the status window when dub is in
progress it shows the video data going in to gb instead of
mb. is this normal becuse it taking up a lot of hard drive
like half is ther some thing i need to do so this wont happen
becuse i wont to put more then one eps on one dvd-r but i can't with it doing this. thanks a lot

I think you have not set a comperession Format(codec) so VD make a raw/uncompressed Video.
