Hi, is there a way to have AutoGK make use of the 'Set keyframe on chapters' option in vdubmod? it would save me a lot of hassle with splitting the avi files afterwards or using dvd decrypter beforehand. (perhaps there is a default template file with settings for vdubmod which can be altered?)
also, it's not all clear to me, but some of the music dvds i converted had very low volume. From what i read, i understand autogk normalizes the sound. does it only do this if the audio stream is mp3 or needs to be converted to mp3? maybe the files with low volume all had ac3 audio streams.
any help or pointers would be appreciated.

Hello, and welcome to the forum.
AutoGK uses DGIndex and AviSynth to input the MPEG-2 as raw video to VdubMod. Because of this, it does not use chapter or cell break points, though, I suppose, in a future release ... if there is one, such a feature could possibly be architected. Meanwhile you could switch to GK, and use ChapterExtractor to get frame numbers, though you will need manual execution of VdubMod with GK-driven AviSynth scripts to use a custom VdubMod feature.
For audio levels, see FAQ 2.12 and 2.13.

thanks for the fast reply.
my bad for not having noticed there was a faq, i only searched with google and did a quick search in the forum.
as for using gk instead of autogk... i wanted something that only needed minor user input since i don't have much time (the whole project is already taking up much more time than i had planned with manual avi splitting and all). but thanks for the advice.

Another alternative, I suppose, is to switch from CD drives and media to DVD drives and media. In this way, you can also avoid splitting your content due to higher capacity of the media.

If the plan is to split them up by songs afterwards, and you find that keyframes aren't being set the way you want, then one option would be to decrypt by chapters with DVD Decrypter, and encode them all separately to begin with.
