Hi
I've been at this for almost a week and I still can't get it right. What I want to do is to take the audio from my Bullet in a Bible DVD (I only need the stereo not the surround sound) and put it on my IPOD mini. I have tried dvd decyrpter and i have besweet and belight but i just cant seem to get it right. Now i deleted everything cause i got mad and i have to start over:( I think the audio has to be in .wav to be able to be put on my ipod. If somebody can help I'll need detailed instructions and they have to be easy for me to follow lol.
:thanks:
first rip the audio in ifo mode with decrypter. this will probably give you ac3 files.
then you can either use Belight/(Besweet) to encode the file(s) directly to mp3 or aac.
Load to itunes. you are done.
note: Belight is a besweet gui. meaning you can click on things to get the encoding done.

Antoniocool, there are detailed guides and manuals for all the programs mentioned, such as how to "get it in ifo mode."
can i take just the 2 channel audio off the dvd and convert it to .wav?
That is exactly what Merlin7777's instructions were for.

i couldn't find any guides on that, i found alot of other guides for other stuff but not what i need. i figured out how to get DVD Decrypter in ifo mode but i don't know if i need to change any other options. if someone could post a link for the guides that i'll need that would be cool. i'm new to this:o
Mode-> IFO
Select the main PGC. DVD Decrypter should do this by default.
select stream processing, check enable stream processing.
go down the list until you get to the audio stream that you want. check it. uncheck everything else. right click on you audio stream. select demux.
run from there.

ok i demuxed the 2ch. audio stream and i got a small .txt, a small .IFO and a 1.92 gig .VOB. So now all i have to do is run the .VOB through belight to convert it to .wav right?

No, because the .VOB contains the audio - it's not just the audio. If you don't want to start over (since somehow you didn't demux the audio) you can open the .VOB with DGIndex, and when you create and save your .d2v file the audio will be demuxed with it. You'll likely come up with more than one AC3track, and you'll probably want to use the one with "2_0" in the filename as it will be the stereo mix.

i don't mind starting over if i have to. i used dvd decyptor on ifo mode and i clicked enable stream processing and checked 2ch audio and i did click demux but i still got a .vob. i tried to run that through belight to convert it to .wav but it came out all static and about half an hour longer then what's it's sopposed to be. sould i try to convert the .vob to ac3 and then to .wav through belight? do you think that would work? i would like to stick with dvd decyptor cause i heard it's the best but if it doesn't work then i don't mind tring something else.

You can't "convert" a .VOB to AC3, because a .VOB is an audio/video container. As I mentioned above, you can use DGIndex to extract the AC3 from the .VOB first, then convert.
Merlin7777 stated:

In my experience this will NOT work. You MUST make sure that all the
streams are selected with a check mark. Do NOT uncheck anything. Then
Click and Highlight the stream you want to demux into a AC3 stream. Then
click on the demux radio button. Then start ripping.
(If you uncheck any streams, you will likely just end up with a .VOB file
and NO .AC3 files. This looks like a bug to me).
After you rip with DVD Decrypter, you will end up with a bunch of useless
.VOB files, a .IFO file and the desired .AC3 file. You can delete the .VOB
files. But keep the .IFO and of course the .AC3 files.
You may want to keep the .IFO file for use with Chapter-X-Tractor and
BeSPlit. BeSplit will break up the big .AC3 file into multiple .AC3 files
(i.e. one per track) once you tell it all the break points in seconds.
Chapter-X-Tractor will give you the break points (from the .IFO file I told
you to keep) and even run BeSplit. (See http://besplit.doom9.org/. The
link for Chapter-X-Tractor is broken but you can find it with a simple
Google Search).
Note: There does not appear to be many docs on Chapter-X-Tractor. Here is
a simple howto. Run Chapter-X-Tractor. Click on the Format Tab. Click on
Open IFO at the bottom left of the pane and select the .IFO file that DVD
Decrypter created. Then click on the preset drop down and select BeSplit
parameters. Then click GO. Chapter-X-Tractor / BeSplit should break up the
one big .AC3 into multiple .AC3 files in the same directory where the big
.AC3 file is located.
If Chapter-X-Tractor fails, there is likely an error with the BeSplit
command. At the top of the pane in Chapter-X-Tractor, look at the BeSplit command and in
particular the -prefix "C:\YOURDIR\" portion. If the -prefix is just a
directory, Chapter-X-tractor / BeSplit will fail! Make sure you have a
partial file name. e.g change -prefix "C:\YOURDIR\" to -prefix
"C:\YOURDIR\track". Then click GO. It should work great!
Once you hace broken up the big .AC3 file into multiple .AC3 files, you can
use a program like BeLight / BeSweet to convert the multiple .AC3 files to
.MP3 or .OGG files. (See the Guide on www.doom9.org)

Huh, that is funny, it normally works perfectly for me. I doubt that it is a bug though, people would have discovered it a long time ago.

How can I report this bug? I have tried running DVD Decrypter with all but the desired audio stream unchecked (but checked as demux for AC3) and I never get a AC3 file. I must check all the streams to get an AC3 file.
Hmm. Even the DVD Decrypter Guide on the www.doom9.org shows all the streams checked except the one you want as AC3. Granted it is only an example but it seems to be the only way to do it.
Rob
P.S. I doubt little can be done to fix this minor bug since I understand that DVD Decrypter is no longer being developed.

This is wrong. read write next to the picture. It says:
Here DVD Decrypter will list all available streams in the currently selected PGC. If you don't want the output to include a certain stream just uncheck it.
I just tested at home. I went to stream processing. I selected my streams, video and 1 audio, and it ripped fine. Make sure that when you uncheck it that you actualy highligh the stream first and then click demux. otherwise if you click demux straight away, it demuxs the first stream the the selected highlighter is on, usually the video stream.
