Hi there!

The title already speaks for itself. I was filling a form on ebay site when I was requested to give my credit card number in order to "prove my age". As this isn't a normal procedure in my country and in doubt I aborted the subscription. I would like from ebay users if is common to give the credit card number whence to sign in a ebay account.

Thanks in advance,

I have an E-bay account. Unless you are talking about Pay-pal, I don't see why you should have to give a credit card number.

@spuddog

Thanks for your reply, mate. It was what I thought too. Here in my country there is the Mercado Livre (http://www.mercadolivre.com) which is associated to Ebay and when I signed in a account there, I was not requested to give any credit card number to it. That's very 'strange' to me. By the way, can I buy computers through Ebay and so they be delivered to here without any restriction?

TIA,

I think ebay does ask it to prevent mutliple accounts and to verify you.

I know Ebay will ask for a credit card if you sign up with a "free" email account instead of your ISP email account. It is meant to prevent fraud.
