I am trying to play an video file .MKV that was encoded with AAC-HE but I have problems with the audio. When I run VidoeInspector tells me that the ACC HE Codec is not installed in my PC. Where can I get this codec and install it, I searched for it here but could not find it.. thanks in advance....

For example you can use ffdshow or CoreAAC both you can find on www.free-codecs.com

ffdshow should decode it. Perhaps you need to reboot?

Also, from the Programs in Start Menu, find ffdshow, open up "audio decoder information", select "codecs" from the list on the left, and make sure that ffdshow is configred to decode AAC with either libfaad2 or realaac. If not, enable it and try again.

I think it's the problem that you don't have an ACM(Audio Codecs Manager) for AAC(NOT ACC).

Turn on the AAC in FFVFW(NOT decoder,VFW) and try again.

Well, i went to ffdshow codecs but could not find AAC with either libfaad2 or realaac to enable it like SirLamer suggested. Also, do not know where to go to turn on the AAC in FFVFW(NOT decoder,VFW).. So it is more likely that i do not have the ACM enabled, how do i do that.. thnx guys...

or stick with coreAAC, as shon3i said.

K, I found it and is exactly like that. But still video inspector keeps telling me AACHE is not installed and sound volume sucks... So i will go with coreaac. 1 ? though, do i have to uninstall FFDSHOW and Install Coreacc or can I have both???

You can have both, you just need to set AAC decoding in ffdshow back to 'disabled'.

Probably this program must have ACM decoder like VirtualDub
