Does anybody know if Nero recode records any privacy information into the MP4 tags (or wherever) of the encoded MP4 file, such as user name, account name, hashcode of serial number etc?

I would imagine the answer is no else they would be in trouble for violation of privacy laws. Plus if someone breaks th ehasing any company that uses the software would be at risk for their key being used malliciously.

Nope, they don't, because if they did, it would undoubtedly be accessible by people who know what they are doing and this is a serious problem if your username and serial number is released.
i also dont think so (meaning i cant imagine where they should store that info)

They could encrypt it... but probably not.

However, you should be aware that most, if not all, logs created by the NERO products DO include your serial number...

For debugging & validation purposes in problem cases logs of course include information.
But at least to my knowledge we don't tag MP4 streams with privacy information.

In metadata in the video file...
Btw: I posted this yesterday. Did a mod delete it? If so, why?

I can assure you that there is no privacy information stored in Nero Digital files.

Metadata wouldn't be suitable for that pupose, it's way too easy to remove or change.
