Hi, just to let you know, I don't have many programs specialising in this. If I need any other programs (perferably simple to use ones), let me know.

So basically, I have a dvd encoded in region2, and my dvd player can't play it. So, I figured just copying it onto my computer with a decrypter and some other stuff. I used this program called anydvd to do it. Would just burning the files back onto the dvd solve the region problem?

Alright, now about the subtitles. What files are the subtitles stored in? The .ifo or something? And how do I go about using them when I watch it on my computer? Or extracting them?

Thank you.

hi 4321,

and even this:

hopefully these threads will help you understand why i cannot answer the first part of your question without knowing which format (as apposed to region) you live and which format you are trying to play.

as for the subtitles, they are stored in the .vob files. why do you need to do anything to play them on your computer?

please see this guide for further help on watching dvd's on your pc:

Hey, thanks :)

I was trying to convert the pal region2 to region1 ntsc.

I see that most DVD players can play both ntsc and pal. So I'll have to re-check mine first.

As for the subtitles, I was wondering what files they were in so I could extract them and use them in .avi or implement them permanently into the video.

Problems solved, thanks again :D
