I see that the main guides on the forums haven't been updated in a few years. I used to use DVD shrink/Decrypter but I'm not sure if anything better has been released since I've been absent from the DVD scene.

Can antone reccomend the apps I'll need to rip and compress as easily as dvd shrink did

have you used dvdfab decrypter? it is updated regularly and handles sony's 'protection". also PGCedit/wizard method.
