Good settings for realtime capturing?

I'm searching for setting to capture with Xvid in realtime from TVtuner in 720*576 or 768*576 resolutions.

What of setting I can switch of with no quality loss (in harm of size of course). And what setting will give less size not rizing up to high CPU load?

Most likely, a good setting for what you do would be to use the 2-3CD preset at a constant quantizer 3. Please note that these settings were meant for 2-pass, so this advice comes without any warranty.

Can you write detailed settings for realtime capturing if you know some:)

I tested my PC and get 85-90% load with

720*576 @25fps
Advanced Simple @ L5 or Cinema PAL
Quant type: H263 (I'm goiung to test New Quantization Matrices - EQM V3 series and Jawor 1cd or 2cd matrices)
Adv Quant - off
Interlaced enc. - off
Quat. Pixel - off (slow down too much)
GMC - off
B-VOPs - off (cause it slow down to much, and seems like drop down qual for video, beeing reencoded then)

Target quantizer - 2

Avdanced options:
Motion Search - 4 or 5
VHQ mode - 0 - off (slow down too much)
Use chroma motion - On
Turbo :) - off (read about quality drop)
Trellis quant - off (I don't know noting about it ;()

Learn how to use the forum functions (expecially the SEARCH function) and read the GUIDES. Learn how the codec works, do some tests with your own system and draw your own conclusions.

If it's for further editing, yet you don't want too high a bitrate (i.e. you can't go lossless), then try MJPEG format.

MJPEG with Q=19 gives 25000-28000kbit/s. It is over 12Gb per hour. It is too huge for mee. 3ivX 4.5.1 gives in same material with Q=2 (100%) only 3000kbit/s :) and it is 1.35-1.4Gb per hour. But it has some color artefacts, especially where it is movement.

Xvid are too hungry for Ghz - or maybe I simply dont' now all setting for it. I can't decide is there any reason for using b-frame and VHQ search in real-time.
