I got a problem that I nor my computer literate friends cannot resolve. Both of my DVD burners are no longer detecting blank media. I have tried use 3 different brands of media and neither drive is working properly. The problem first appeared after attempting to backup a couple of my own discs using DVD Dycrypter and DVD Shrink. I tried using DVD fab decrypter with the same results. Even when I put in a blank DVD with no programs running the drives do not detect the media. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both drives to no avail. It almost appears as if one of the movies I was trying to backup had some malicious software included on the disc. I have also ran all of my virus and spyware software with nothing showing up. I hope somebody out there know something more than I do so that I don't have to take my Computer to its knees
Thanks for reading.

I should also add that one of my drives is brand new right out of the box. Both drives also will play previously recorded DVD+r's. I am using XP pro. One of my drives is a NU tech 8x internal the other (new one is an I/O 16x dual layer internal drive, both use the windows driver.

If you haven't, I would try to test a single drive [Master] setup; probably with the newer DVD drive first. Good luck.
