Hi avi.NET fans,
I have made a mod package for avi.NET v2.0.5.0 that allows it to encode the audio directly to mp3 using BeSweet instead of azid, normalize and lame. This will make the encoding process a minute or two faster, but the big advantage of using this mod is that temporary files created during the encoding process will be much less. azid.exe creates a temporary .wav file that can be up to 900MB in size during the audio encoding process of a 90min vob. By using the mod you will eliminate this huge wav file.
The mod also includes support for encoding to Aud-X 5.1 channel MP3!
The mod does not modify any avi.NET sourcecode: I simply replaced azid.exe, normalize.exe and lame.exe with my own programs that intercept the cmd line args and call BeSweet / Aud-X. The original files are backed up so you can switch back to the unmodified version.
It includes a config utility called "QuickModSwitch" to quickly switch between the mod and the original version of avi.NET. It also enables you to configure some BeSweet options and choose
between Aud-X or BeSweet.
I initially wrote it for myself, but thought that it would be cool to share it, so I hope that at least some other people will find it useful. It should work for vobs with ac3 / mpeg1/2 sound and mpeg files with mpeg1/2 audio. Aud-X is only available for encoding ac3 to 5.1 MP3.

Instructions for setup and other info are in the Readme.txt in the zip file.
Thanx for CloneAD for permission to distribute the mod ;)
Happy encoding,
Jacquers
