Hello all,

I've been having problems with DVD-RB crashing and decided to do a clean install of windows and reinstall RB and RME.

I have the latest version of RB-PRO installed, and downloaded RME.

I had used RME before with success, but now everytime i run it i am getting weird error messages that mention missing files and the program won't run.

First, it gave me a run time error 713, or something like that, that said that msstdfmt.dll was missing. I downloaded it and installed it but not I am getting ANOTHER error message, this time saying that

Component 'COMDLG32.OCX' or one of it dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

I have no idea what this is and have never had this issue before. If anyone could give me some advice that'd be great.

THanks!

Justin

Please get your facts straight. You've now said in several posts that "RB is crashing" -- but then confirm yourself that if you use ProCoder or another package instead of the copy of CCE SP Trial you are using it works fine.... that means it is not RB that is crashing.... it's CCE SP Trial.

I'd like everyone to know that I am not responsible for -- nor can I fix any poorly hacked versions of CCE SP Trial that are floating around. I highly recommend buying CCE Basic.

Jdobbs,

I see your point. I have used Procoder before and seemed to have had good luck with it, but I was also using the trial version of 2.7 CCE as well and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, so I suppose it must be an issue with CCE Trial.

Additionally, did you have any advice on the problem with RME that I mentioned in this thread? This problem has nothing to do with CCE or anything, it just won't let me open RME, it's giving weird errors about missing files, but I had never had this issue before, when I previously had RME on my machine before I did the clean Windows install.

It had been suggested on a tech website elsewhere that a few of the files Windows is looking for are part of a Visual Basic Runtime package, which I downloaded and installed, but it didn't make a difference.

If anyone has experienced this problem or could offer any help, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!

So... you have a "COMDLG32.OCX" missing!
It's an easy fix... all you have to do is put that file on the same directory as RME executable... it should do it.
