just wondering with dvd2one 2.03 just leaving settings on default the quality on automatic selects medium. would manually putting it on high be better or not?

Settings of that type, particularly on compression programs, are there so that you can explore the different results from varying/adjusting them.

There's no one standard "answer", because each DVD is different...
