Möglicherweise stellt das Team dann die ursprünglich bereits für Ende Januar angekündigte H.264/AVC-Implementierung von Xvid vor ("Xvid 2.0"), die ebenso wie der MPEG-4-ASP-Codec selbst weiterhin unter der GNU General Public License (GPL) veröffentlicht wird.
