View Full Version : Is there a way to pause VDubMod during encode?

I have a very long (time-wise) encoding, and would like to know if there's a way to pause/resume an encode from the "job control" so I can use the computer for other tasks in-between.
The "postpone" or "stop" dosen't seem to work while encoding.

You should be able to use your computer for other tasks while running VirtualDubMOD...

Not on my PIII 733MHz :)
The encoding is cpu intensive even when lowering the priority.

This (http://beyondlogic.org/solutions/processutil/processutil.htm) might help (use it to "suspend" VirtualDubMoD). Also search the forums. This same question has been asked for various other utilities too.

Try BES (http://mion.faireal.net/BES/).

Or use StaxRip.

There should be two windows open during encode, one of which is has the File menu on it. Bring up that window, click Options > Show status window, and you can set it to Idle via the drop-down menu. It won't completely stop, but it should slow to the point that there's no noticeable impact on your system.

Thanks all. BES works very well for my needs.
